I am a Registered Dietitian with a Masters Degree in Sports Psychology and a Doctorate in Clinical Nutrition. I have worked in adult and adolescent day treatment eating disorder programs, clinical settings, and maintained a private practice. Currently, I work with all types of disordered eating and eating disorders including anorexia nervosa, bulimia, compulsive overeating and compulsive over exercising in my private practice.
I believe in helping people establish a balanced lifestyle through real food, exercise, and leading by example. I believe that eating disorders are hidden ways to work out the issues in one’s life that need healing. I will look at the specific food issues and behaviors in order to help you understand a clear and direct way to deal with life’s challenges and obstacles. I focus on simple nutrition, practical tips and breaking down research so that it can be implemented into any way of life. I believe in a healthy relationship with food, nutrition and exercise. There are no gimmicks, no diet pills, and no fad diets. Just real food, real evidence based practice, and real nutrition.
I do nutrition and wellness appointments via Skype, phone, or in person where I utilize a systems theory approach to assess your entire health history including: your digestion, stress management, your microbiome, and your culture in order to find the root cause of your nutritional status. I will teach you how to eat to support your body, your lifestyle and your preferences.
I am on the board of the DFW IAEDP (International Association of Eating Disorders) Chapter, and a member of the International Federation of Eating Disorder Dietitians.
